The time has finally arrived for those who have worked for years preparing for the FIFA World Cup.

North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee President Monica Paul says this is much more than just an event for North Texas.

"I'm excited, I'm proud, nervous a little bit as well," Paul said. "When you've been working on something for nine years since 2017."

She says this is also something for all international fans coming through the Metroplex over the next five weeks.

"I think maybe there are some misconceptions too, here, of what is the DFW area, what is Dallas, what is Fort Worth," Paul said. "I want our international visitors to experience all of it."

North Texas organizers held a Grand Opening for the Dallas Host City Media Center Wednesday. The facility will serve as a hub for all local broadcasters working the event on a local level.

The Dallas Host City Media Center is directly across Griffin Street inside the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center from where the International Broadcast Center is located.

The International Broadcast Center is a hub for all three countries hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup which gets underway Thursday in Mexico City.
