The Dallas ICE office off I-35E and Empire Central remains closed following last week's sniper attack with no word when it will reopen.
That means many migrants living in the United States are showing up for immigration appointments only to find a closed building.
Mia Guerrero with the Law Office of Eric Cedillo was on site advising those showing up for appointments on what to do next including to take a picture proving they showed up when they were told.
"We tell them to call the number, 1-972-367-2200, and request for an appointment to be rescheduled," Guerrero said.
Many migrants show up for appointments having no clue that the building has been closed for several days.
"We have people coming from out of state, we also have people that have to get an Uber here, then they are having to call their family members to get an Uber back," Guerrero said. "We are seeing all kinds of problems here, issues they are running into, because they are uninformed."
Three detainees were shot during last week's attack and one of them died.
The FBI, which called the attack an 'act of targeted violence, says the gunman took his own life.
