DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Parent orientation will take place today at the three Dallas hotels where Hurricane Laura evacuees are staying.
Nearly four weeks after Laura hit the Louisiana coast, thousands of people evacuated to North Texas still have no permanent home. But their children still need an education.
So, yesterday, Dallas school administrators enrolled about 100 of them to begin their studies immediately at four schools -- Dallas North High School, Spence Middle School and Zaragoza and Medrano elementaries.
While today's orientation is going on for those parents, the district hopes to enroll another 100, or so, kids.
