Dallas ISD trustees took no action at a meeting Thursday night on a controversial sex ed recommendation.

The recommendation from the district's School Health Advisory Council includes what are described as "Sexual Health Instructional Resources" that supporters say would teach students to prevent pregnancy through contraceptives and would also teach about "gender identity."

Some parents criticized the proposal saying it was inappropriate for children.

Trustees heard some impassioned viewpoints from parents.

A vote on the recommendation was canceled when two trustees pulled the matter from the agenda.
