DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas residents who need water can stop by their local rec center.
Last week's arctic blast left many people without running water in their homes.
"The homes have broken pipes, and they're just not able to allow water inside of those homes or apartment complexes.," says Adam Traylor with the Dallas Office of Emergency Management.
Thus, the City of Dallas is helping by launching a bulk water pickup program.
"Residents can bring their own bucket and get up to 15 gallons of water from these rec centers," says Traylor. "The locations are available from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., any day of the week."
For those who do not have water containers, the city has a limited number of five-gallon water buckets at each rec center.
"We have it going on through the next two weeks," Traylor says. "If it's needed past then, we'll extend it."
