A Dallas man is locked up in Collin County after Allen police caught him at the end of a chase yesterday.
Police say Vance Djuan Herbert is up on two counts of leaving the scene of an accident and one count of evading arrest.
It all began with a 911 caller who claimed another driver had shot at him on Highway 75 near Bethany Drive. The caller followed the other driver when he got off the freeway where the suspected shooter crashed into two cars and bailed out to get away on foot.
Allen police used a drone to track the suspect as he ran through a few backyards. After awhile, the police got him in custody.
Investigators say they man did not have a firearm on him when he was arrested. Nor was one found in the car he crashed.
Police say for the time being, they're not sure whether the original shooting call was legitimate or not. Plano Police are investigating.
