Dallas man sentenced to 10 years for fatal crash at end of police chase

A Dallas man arrested following a police chase and deadly crash has been sentenced on charges of murder and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Late last year, Joey Jarvis was arrested following a high-speed chase and crash on Greenville Avenue, a chase that ran from Garland to Dallas.

Police say Jarvis slammed into an SUV with five people inside. One of them. a 16-year-old girl was killed. For her murder and two organized criminal activity charges, Jarvis accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to ten years.

Jarvis is also facing more than three dozen other charges from burglaries in at least eight cities in both Dallas and Tarrant counties.
