A Dallas man who claimed "God told him to do it," is going to prison for life for sexually abusing a child in Collin County.

Prosecutors say Christopher Caudill's victim was abused for six years beginning when she was just 11 years old. Police reports say Caudill's victim told detectives he would justify the abuse by claiming "That's what they did in the Bible."

A Collin County convicted Caudill of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. The sentence range for that is anywhere from 25 years to life and the jury chose life without possibility of parole.

Following the sentencing, Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said "It's revolting that this horribly evil person not only inflicted such prolonged pain and evil on a child, but also had the twisted nerve to use God and the Bible to justify it."
