Local officials are moving a COVID-19 vaccination site from the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in downtown Dallas to an Oak Cliff church.
Starting this week, the City of Dallas is moving the vaccine site at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center to the parking lot of The Potter's House Church in Oak Cliff.
The megachurch had a strong relationship with the city, and Frank Dyer, with The Potter's House, says it has the ability to host upwards of 7,000 people a day.
Dyer says this is a faith move, and that the church has no problem stepping in to help.
The new location could help ease congestion downtown as well, and will allow some first responders who have been helping with the distribution of vaccines to get back to their normal duties.
The new vaccine site is expected to be up and running on Thursday.
If you've gotten a notification from the City Of Dallas to arrive at the convention center for your second dose of the vaccine today, make sure you go to the convention center, not the church.
