Dallas could move to dismiss some municipal court cases to deal with a growing back-log of cases caused by COVID-19.
The Dallas Municipal Court was closed down for a few weeks over the summer and they have not been able to have in-person jury trials for several months.
Administrative Judge Preston Robinson says they're considering a plan to dismiss some cases where people are accused of non-violent offenses.
He says that would only account for about two percent of the new cases that have come in between March and September.
Officials say the dismissal of some cases would not affect any street racing cases or those of theft or assault cases.
