Municipal courts for the city of Dallas are expected to reopen today after being closed for nearly four weeks because of the ransomware attack that afflicted the city's computers on May 3rd.
The attack halted all hearings, trials and jury duty. But officials say a previously planned system upgrade means the municipal courts are now back online, and up and running.
A number of city Websites have been affected including the police department's ability to track crime statistics.
Court officials say if you have a court hearing that was delayed due to the outage, all of those cases were reset and they say they sent notices via mail, so check your mailbox if you were affected.
Also, because the courts have been closed since May 3rd, if you got a jury summons during that time, you are ok to ignore it. But if the date is today or after you are still required to show up.
