Three people are in custody and a fourth is still on the run after an incident that led to a shooting involving Dallas police on Thursday.

The incident started at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday in the 9600 block of Golf Lake Trail in Dallas' Vickery Meadow neighborhood, police said.

Police said officers working undercover got an alert from a camera system that takes pictures of license plates and checks them against a database of stolen cars or those involved in alerts.

After covert officers found the stolen vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot, uniformed officers arrived and approached the car, police said.

Police said the driver of the stolen vehicle hit the gas and rammed two Dallas police cars. Officers fired their weapons, striking one of four people inside the car.

The man who was struck, 17-year-old Eric Lampkin-Scarborough, was still hospitalized Friday in stable condition. He faces a charge of prohibited weapon and evading detention on foot.

Police said they also arrested 19-year-old Deantae Moore, who faces two capital murder charges in connection to a homicide in March, and 21-year-old Damon Price, who is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault of a public servant, evading detention on foot, and a probation violation.

Police said they did not have a description of the fourth suspect.

No officers were injured in the incident.

A news conference to release more information about the shooting is scheduled for Monday.
