Dallas(1080 KRLD) - An officer who has been with the Dallas Police Department for the better part of the decade is on administrative leave after getting arrested.
Colony Police arrested the Dallas Police Officer yesterday on several different charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and driving while intoxicated.
Police say they received a disturbance call early yesterday morning and found Officer John Vasquez Junior trying to drive away from the location. He was arrested and booked into The Colony jail.
Vasquez has been with the Dallas Police Department about 8 years, since September 2013, and is assigned to the northwest patrol division. An Internal affairs investigation is being conducted and until its finished, Vasquez has been placed on administrative leave.
