An auto theft ring was busted in West Dallas that stretched south to Barry, Texas.

Dallas police served warrants along Kenesaw Drive and arrested two 19-year-olds after investigators think they stole vehicles, swapped out VIN numbers, and used the vehicles for parts.

Bernado Bustos and Santos Bustos are charged with Organized Criminal Activity.

Four vehicles reported stolen out of Dallas were found in Dallas and in Barry, three vehicles were found that were reported stolen in Dallas, DeSoto, and Lewisville.

Two other vehicles were seized because the VIN numbers were obscured.

"Auto theft is not a victimless crime, and this investigation had victims in several jurisdictions," said Major Christopher Jaquez, General Investigations Division commander. "By partnering with the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force, we can take down criminals who operate in multiple cities."
