Dallas police say a 3-year-old child is dead after being shot in the head.
Police say a mother drove her son to Medical City hospital in north Dallas Monday morning just before 10:00 a.m. Attempts to save him were unsuccessful and the child died a short time later.
Dallas police released a statement saying the mother claimed she was involved in a road rage incident with a dark-colored 4-door sedan being driven by a black male in a red shirt. She said the shots were fired near Whitehurst and Arbor Park in far northeast Dallas.
Mayor Eric Johnson put out a tweet saying "This breaks my heart and makes me absolutely sick. The person responsible for this child's death must be brought to justice."
