Dallas police are releasing more information about a woman's murder last week.

Last Thursday, a woman identified as Ra'Jean Jackson was found shot to death in a car parked on Tacoma Street near Sunnyvale Street. Now, police say they're charging her boyfriend, Devante Traylor, who is also the father of her child.

Police say they got a story of self-defense from Traylor who claimed Jackson pulled a knife from her purse and threatened to stab him. He pulled a gun and said he was trying to exit the car when she grabbed the gun and it went off.

But police point out Jackson was shot six times including twice in the head. So, they are discounting his self-defense claim.

Detectives also say he did not call 9-1-1 for about an hour after the shooting. Jackson was already dead when help arrived.
