One person is injured after being shot by a Dallas police officer following a pursuit near Love Field on Tuesday, chief Eddie Garcia says.

The incident happened before 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 7100 block of Lemmon Avenue, on the east side of Dallas Love Field.

At a press briefing Tuesday, Garcia said Dallas police officers were surveilling a stolen U-Haul truck, when the suspect noticed them. The suspect proceeded to ram a Dallas police squad car before a brief pursuit ensued.

The driver of the truck ultimately exited the vehicle and fired at an officer, Garcia said. The officer returned fire and struck the suspect, who was injured and arrested.

Garcia said more information would be provided at a press conference Friday.
