A 1993 Dallas murder case has led to an arrest after detectives found new forensic evidence.

Dallas Police say Gary Len Ross, 56, was arrested Friday and charged with capital murder in the death of 55-year-old Tommie Davis.

Davis was found murdered inside her Haskell Avenue home on May 18, 1993. Investigators said she had been beaten and stabbed.

More than 30 years later, detectives took another look at the case. New testing showed blood found inside the home belonged to Ross, who police say had used an alias.

Ross told detectives he had been inside Davis’ home days before her death but denied killing her.

Police said Ross could not explain how his blood ended up inside the home. He was arrested following the interview.
