The Dallas Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their officers.
The department shared on social media that Senior Corporal Christopher Blow died Wednesday while off-duty following a medical emergency on an airplane.
"This is a devastating loss for our department," Chief Daniel Comeaux said in a statement released on the department's Instagram account. "Senior Corporal Blow committed his career to serving the people of Dallas, and his absence will be deeply felt by his colleagues, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him."
Blow was with the department since 2013 and was most recently assigned to the Vice unit.
Chief Comeaux said more information will be shared when available and asked that the public keep his family and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers in this incredibly difficult time.
