Just after midnight Saturday morning a man using his phone, stepped off the sidewalk in the 9900 block of Forest lane, near Skillman Avenue when a Black 2008 to 2012 Honda was speeding, struck him.
According to Dallas Police, the force of the impact launched the victim from the road into a nearby brick wall.
The driver of the Honda failed to stop leaving the scene while the victim died from their injuries.
Dallas Police are looking for a Honda with damage to the passenger's side, right headlights, windshield and missing the right side mirror.
The vehicle may also have a custom exhaust system producing a loud engine noise.
