The Dallas Police Department received about 22-million dollars in federal funding to support security efforts for the FIFA World Cup.
The funds would be used for things like drone technology, cameras, and anti-ramming barricades.
"The funds will primarily support personnel costs, including salaries and overtime, for officers assigned to critical operations across Dallas," Chief Comeaux said.
Chief Daniel Comeaux says there will be an increase in police presence around the city with a focus on bars, restaurants, and the FIFA Fan Fest at Fair Park.
"We don't want to discuss everything, right?" Chief Comeaux said. "We are definitely taking all the intel in to make sure that some of the bad things don't happen here."
