Dallas police took over 1,000 calls complaining about gunfire or fireworks over New Year’s Eve.
Dallas 911 dispatchers got 759 calls related to celebratory gunfire and 273 calls related to fireworks disturbances.
"From out 9-1-1 call dispatchers to patrol officers and investigators, the men and women of the Dallas Police Department worked tirelessly throughout the night," Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said on a Dallas PD social media post.
"Their professionalism and commitment ensured that these calls were answered while life-threatening emergencies remained our top priority," Comeaux said.
