Dallas police performed a water rescue early this morning after a woman lost control of her SUV and ended up in White Rock Creek.
It's unknown if the rainy weather was a factor in the crash, but police say the woman somehow rolled her Range Rover off Spring Valley Road, just east of Preston Road, and into the creek. It happened very early this morning, around 12:30 a.m., when water levels in the creek were high.
Police say the woman called her family in a panic, and her family called 911. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and managed to get the woman out of the waterlogged wreckage safely. She was checked for injuries at the scene before being sent home with family.
The 6400 block of Spring Valley was temporarily shut down as the SUV got towed. Police say it took nearly five hours for the wrecker to lift the SUV about 60 feet up from the creek and onto the road.
