The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 88-year-old Myrtle Polk.
Polk was last seen in June 2024 driving in the 1100 block of Indian Creek Trail. Her vehicle was recovered Tuesday in the 5600 block of South Lancaster Road. Children found the vehicle upside down in Five Mile creek near Wagon Wheels Trail and South Lancaster Road. A tow truck and winch were used to pull the vehicle from the creek.
Polk, a former Dallas ISD teacher and administrator, was in the early stages of dementia at the time of her disappearance, according to family.
On Wednesday, the Dallas Police Mounted Unit, South Central Patrol, and private search teams deployed in the area to continue searching for Polk. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds, and has white hair and brown eyes.
