A Dallas police sergeant has turned himself in after being accused of stealing guns from the department and then pawning them off.
Police started to investigate Sergeant Thomas Fry after a locker for weapons of officers on leave was found to be broken into at the Southeast Patrol Division. Investigation started on October 2022 and between August 2021 to July 2022, it was determined that Fry stole four guns.
In documents obtained by KRLD, investigators discovered that Fry sold three of the four stolen guns to pawn shops in Mississippi and Oklahoma. All three guns were tracked down and accounted for. Three arrest warrants were issued to Fry.
On Tuesday afternoon it was found that Fry turned himself into the Mesquite Police Department on Monday.
