We have been telling you this week about the increase in federal funding aimed at boosting local security ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux opened up about the amount of homework Dallas officers have been doing over the past two years.

"Behind the scenes there is a whole lot going on," Chief Comeaux said this week. "Along with sending some team members to Mexico to witness some of the games that are going on with the soccer events where they have other international teams there."

Comeaux also said some of his officers have traveled to Qatar which was the site of the last FIFA World Cup four years ago.

"We were able to see exactly how they protected everyone at the World Cup," Chief Comeaux said. "We were able to go through their intelligence center."

He says they are also in contact with other countries about their team so they can be of better assistance.
