Dallas ranks as the 8th most sinful city in America, according to a new WalletHub study released Monday that evaluates social-vice behavior across 182 U.S. cities.

The report measures seven categories — including anger, jealousy, greed, lust, vanity and excess — using 37 data points such as violent crime rates, theft, adult-entertainment density and other community behavior indicators.

Dallas scored especially high in metrics tied to jealousy and lust, placing the city in the top tier nationally for those categories. WalletHub notes that the term “sinful” in this context is not religious, but a reflection of behaviors that can create social and economic costs for communities.

Las Vegas tops the national list, with Houston, San Antonio and Austin also ranking among the more “sinful” cities in Texas. WalletHub’s analysis is updated annually, offering a snapshot of how cities compare based on publicly available data.
