New data from Rent.com shows that rental prices in Dallas have jumped at least 20% across the board in the last year.
"It really boils down to a lot of supply and demand issues," said Brian Carberry, Senior Managing Editor of Rent.com. "There's just so many people on the market right now looking for a place to live."
The numbers show that the average price for a studio apartment in Dallas is now $1,572, which is 20% higher than the last year.
If you're looking for a three-bedroom apartment, the average price is $2,610, a whopping 58% increase in just 12 months.
Good luck if you're searching for an economy unit as 53% of all apartments in Dallas are priced over $2,000.
Carberry does expect rents to continue to increase, but not at the same 20-plus percentage increase we've seen in the last year.
