The annual Dallas St. Patrick's Parade and Festival gets underway on Saturday celebrating its 45th anniversary.

This is Mauricio Navarro's first year to be Executive Producer. He says they are expecting about 100,000 people out for the parade at 11:00am which runs along Greenville Avenue.

"You're going to have a great time but getting there you're going to have a headache. Leaving there you're going to have a headache," Navarro said in relation to the enormous crowd. "While you're here, you're going to see a sense of community you've never experienced before."

This year's Honorary Grand Marshal is Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins.

Dallas police will also be on hand for the event.

They work the parade and festival in shifts all day long from 4 in the morning until Midnight that night.

"This is an event to enjoy," said Dallas Assistant Police Chief Catrina Shead. "If you see anything that's suspicious, please please please let us know. Flag us down, call 911, or utilize the app."

The parade gets underway at 11:00am Saturday along Greenville Ave.
