The Dallas Stars have secured their place in the Western Conference Final for the third consecutive year, following a dramatic 2–1 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets in Game 6 of their second-round series. Defenseman Thomas Harley netted the game-winning goal just 1:33 into the extra period, capitalizing on a power play opportunity drawn by Sam Steel late in regulation.
Goaltender Jake Oettinger delivered a stellar performance, making 22 saves to rebound from a challenging Game 5. Sam Steel also contributed a goal during the second period, highlighting the team's depth and resilience.
The Stars' victory eliminated the Presidents' Trophy-winning Jets and set up a rematch of last year's conference final against the Edmonton Oilers. Dallas will host Game 1 on Wednesday, May 21, at the American Airlines Center.
This marks the Stars' tenth appearance in the conference finals since the NHL adopted a 16-team playoff format in 1980. Head coach Peter DeBoer reaches his eighth conference final, placing him third among coaches in the expansion era.
