It's a good time to be Dallas Stars president and CEO Brad Alberts.
Season ticket sales are soaring, website traffic is way up, and merch is flying off the shelves.
"I've been saying it for years: this is a hockey city," Alberts says.
For the first time since 2002-03, the Stars have sold out the entire lower bowl and the platinum levels at the American Airlines Center. The Stars will be at 14,500 total season tickets for the coming season, an increase of more than 2,000 over last year.
Website traffic is up 44%. The Stars' social media following has increased by almost 100,000 – with TikTok followers jumping over 18%.
Oh, and everywhere you go, you see Stars sweaters.
"We sold over 24,000 jerseys last year," Alberts says. "And when we used to say 'Wear green,' I think everybody is. When you came to playoff games, you could tell, everybody in that building was wearing green."
The success off the ice is following a brilliant year on the ice, with the Stars reaching the Western Conference Finals.
General manager Jim Nill was just signed to a two year extension after being awarded the NHL's 2022-23 Jim Gregory GM of the Year Award.
"Jim's been incredible," gushes Alberts "He's the longest tenured general manager now in the history of our franchise. I think that says a lot. Jim is steady...he and his group really transformed the franchise."
The Stars host training camp at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park from September 21-24.
Their season opener is October 12, hosting the St. Louis Blues at the American Airlines Center.
