Dallas' mayor is taking a big swipe at New York City's new mayor saying Zohran Mamdani's policies will actually benefit North Texas.
Mayor Eric Johnson says the "un-Americans socialist impulse" policies from newly-sworn-in New York Mayor Mamdani means a flood of Wall Street firms will leave lower Manhattan for Dallas.
He tells the New York Post, in an exclusive interview, that within a certain number of years people will look back and ask if they remember back when New York was the financial capital of the United States.
The new comments come just a few months before the new Texas Stock Exchange becomes fully operational in Dallas.
Dallas is also home to the New York Stock Exchange Texas which opened in 2025.
Mayor Johnson made what is known as 'Y'all Street' a key focus in his recent State of the City Address.
