The fastest woman in the world is getting a Dallas track named after her. Her name is Sha'Carri Richardson, gold medal winner in the women's 100-meter race at the World Championships in August.
But, before that, she was an eight-time state champion at Carter High School in Oak Cliff. Now, the track inside Kincade Stadium is being named for her as approved by the Dallas school board.
Richardson has been running on that track since she was a kid and her former high school coach says it's something she's definitely earned.
Richardson says she's she was shocked when she first heard about the renaming but excited about the honor.
