The 2025 WNBA Draft will take place Monday night at The Shed in New York City, and it marks a significant moment for the Dallas Wings as they are expected to select University of Connecticut star Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick.
Bueckers led the Huskies to a national title earlier this month. Known for her exceptional scoring, defensive skills, and leadership, she is expected to join forces with Arike Ogunbowale to create a dynamic backcourt for the Wings, who aim to recover from a challenging 9-31 season in 2024.
The Wings also hold the No. 12 pick in the first round. Draft observers say the Wings could take North Carolina State guard Saniya Rivers, a defensive standout with a 6-foot, 5-inch wingspan.
The draft will also feature the debut of the Golden State Valkyries, the league's newest expansion team.
