Dallas police arrest a woman accused of setting fire to a south Dallas home Sunday morning and then stabbing a fire hose as crews tried to put out the flames.

Investigators say the house was vacant at the time and no one was hurt, but the suspect is now facing charges including arson and criminal mischief.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, crews responded to the home shortly after flames were reported and discovered that someone had punctured a charged hose line, slowing their efforts to control the fire.

Officials say the damage did not stop firefighters from containing the blaze, but it caused delays and further property loss at the scene.

Police detained the woman nearby and turned her over to arson investigators, who believe the fire was intentionally set. The department has not yet released additional details about a possible motive. The investigation is ongoing.
