DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- It is too darn hot these days and the Dallas Zoo is making some changes in an attempt to keep you cooler.

The Dallas Zoo announced new summer hours to help visitors, staff and animals stay cool during those hot summer days. Starting this week and running through Friday, Aug. 30, the zoo will open at 8 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.

The last ticketed entry during this time-period will be at 1 p.m. each day. They have also installed dozens of new, permanent mister fans at six of its major habitats and locations.

There are two 'Dollar Days' coming up on Thursday, July 18, and Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Admission to the zoo is only $1 on those days and is expected to sell out.
