Dallas Zoo opens public vote to name baby goat

Dallas (1080 KRLD)- The Lacerte Family Children's Zoo in Dallas is asking for the public's help in naming one of their three newborn Arapawa goats.

On April 3rd, Daisy gave birth to a boy named Oleander and a girl named Aster. Just a day later, Susan gave birth to a girl who you can help name.

As members of a critically endangered species, of which there are currently only approximately 300 remaining in their native home of New Zealand, these three births come as welcome news.

The vote which ends on May 10th gives you one vote for every $1 donated, with all proceeds aiding the Dallas Zoo's conservation efforts.

The three options to choose from are Bluebonnet, Clover and Fern with the zoo sticking to a Texas-native-plant theme across all three newborns.

Those wishing to vote can do so here.
