The DART West Dallas on-demand shuttle pilot program has been extended for another year, through the end of 2024.
Announcing the decision Wednesday morning the DART Board of Directors says "we are very happy to extend our partnership with both Toyota and Circuit for the continued support of the communities of West Dallas."
The shuttle service is made up of a fleet of six electric vehicles that operate Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and covers a five-square-mile area reaching from North Westmoreland Road to the west, Canada Drive to the north, and Interstate 30 to the south.
DART and Toyota partnered with the free ride-sharing service Circuit for a one-year pilot program in January 2023, providing West Dallas residents with an easy way to get to grocery stores, doctor visits, and other services throughout West Dallas, as well as access to the whole DART network.
