DART police officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting near Victory Park station Sunday evening in Dallas.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on May 10 along the light rail tracks close to the station. DART officials say officers responded to the area where a person was located on the tracks. Video recorded by a nearby resident shows officers running toward the individual. One officer is seen kicking what appeared to be a gun away from the person on the ground while paramedics assisted.
No officers or bystanders were injured, according to DART. The individual involved was transported from the scene on a stretcher.
The shooting caused an immediate disruption to DART rail service. No trains moved through Victory Park station, and the agency set up a bus bridge for affected passengers.
DART said an investigation into the officer-involved shooting is underway. Additional details about what led to the incident have not been released.
The Victory Park station is a busy light rail stop just north of downtown Dallas that serves multiple lines and is near popular entertainment and residential areas.
