Police say the man accused of killing a passenger on a DART train earlier this week was wearing a “Jason-style” hockey mask during the deadly attack.
According to an arrest affidavit, 27-year-old Harrington Hurdle briefly removed the mask before putting it back on and firing nine shots from a Draco-brand AK-style pistol, killing 23-year-old Norman Brown. The shooting happened Sunday night aboard a DART train near the Pearl/Arts District Station in downtown Dallas.
Investigators say Hurdle and Brown were sitting near each other before the gunfire erupted. Witnesses told police the suspect appeared agitated, then pulled out the weapon and opened fire, sending passengers scrambling for cover.
Hurdle was arrested the next day and charged with murder. DART Police have not said what led to the confrontation or whether the two men knew each other.
The investigation remains ongoing.
