A man who works as a contract delivery driver has disappeared while making a trip from Houston to Dallas. Texas EquuSearch says Henry Schelsteder, 69, left Houston about a week ago. He has not been seen or heard from since he was in Madisonville the evening of May 2.
Texas EquuSearch says Schelsteder has a medical condition that requires medication. The organization says his family is concerned because he is a "very safe and methodical driver who is very specific about the stops he makes and always takes extra precautions in bad weather."
Schelsteder was driving a gray, 2002 F-350 with a missing tailgate and black "Headache Rack" in the back window. The truck has the license plate, PYP-5305.
Schelsteder is white, 5'10" and between 210 and 240 pounds. He is balding and has a scar on the top of his head. He was wearing black t-shirt, khaki shorts, gray shoes and a welding hat.
Texas EquuSearch is asking people who own land along a 185-mile stretch of I-45 between Dallas and New Waverly to check property lines near the highway. The organization is also asking people to watch for Schelsteder along routes that run east and west from I-45.
A picture of Schelsteder and his truck can be seen at texasequusearch.org . Anyone with information is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at (713) 755-7427 or Texas EquuSearch at (281) 309-9500.
