A Denton man has been charged with five felony counts of stalking WNBA star Caitlin Clark after allegedly sending her threatening messages and driving from Texas to her home, authorities say.

Michael Lewis, 55, is accused of sending violent messages to Clark that made her fear for her safety, according to Indianapolis police. Clark told investigators the messages forced her to change her appearance in public to avoid being recognized.

Lewis could face up to six years in prison if convicted.

Authorities have not released additional details about the case, and it remains unclear when Lewis is expected to appear in court.
