It was March 25th when officers went to check out a call about an unconscious person inside an encampment along Brinker Road.
They found the body of 38-year-old Shawn Cross, and the Medical Examiner said he overdosed on fentanyl and meth.
During the investigation, detectives figured out Ryan Michelle Warner was the person who sold him the drugs.
On Tuesday, they arrested her on a murder warrant in the 800 block of W. Hickory Street. Warner is currently in the City of Denton Jail. Bail has not been set yet.
This is the fourth fentanyl murder arrest in Denton since a new state law went into effect this past September.
Under the law someone who supplies the fentanyl that leads to their death - can be arrested for murder.
