Police say it was actually a family member who reached out to say Marquez Reed may have brought a gun to Fred Moore High School. Staff at the school quickly found the weapon and contacted police who then arrested Reed.

The teen told police he did not intend to hurt anyone. No threats were made against the school or anyone inside. Reed was arrested for Unlawful Carrying Weapon - Places Weapons Prohibited.

The 18-year-old from Aubrey is in the Denton jail. Bail has not been set yet.
