A serial spitter has been arrested in Denton after cursing at people, spitting at them and rubbing spit on a Girl Scout.

"The woman-- for unknown reasons-- had spat on her hands and wiped that on the Girl Scout," says Allison Beckwith with Denton police. "And then that same woman went into the store and spat on an employee, as well."
Before the spitting incident, the Girl Scout's mother says the woman had approached her daughter at the cookie booth and started screaming at her.
"She was saying some pretty unsavory things, and calling her some inappropriate names," says Candace Arnold, who was selling cookies with her 11-year-old daughter, Victoria. "She upset my daughter, then the lady went inside the store. I just told [my daughter] when you see her again, come stand by me."
But she says Victoria didn't see her in time. When the woman came out of the store, Arnold says she approached from behind and wiped spit on the Girl Scout.
At that point, Arnold says her husband jumped into action and tried to stop the woman from fleeing in her car.
"The woman pops her trunk so he can't get a picture," Arnold says. "Then throws it in reverse and actually hits my husband with her car. She pins him between her car and a silver car."
The police showed up seconds later.
The woman was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Arnold says her family is pressing charges.
"It was just a lot of chaos," Arnold says. "My daughter was really shaken up. We had another booth sale on Sunday and she was hesitant to go. She's still a little wary, which is understandable. She's nervous to knock on people's doors and hand out cookies."
If there's a silver lining to the story, it's this: Ever since the incident, Victoria has seen a bump in her online cookie sales. Arnold says it's because the Denton community is rallying to support the young Girl Scout.
"The City of Denton has been amazing," Arnold says."The folks of Denton have just been wonderful in supporting her."
