Frisco is on a new list of the Top Ten hottest markets for home buyers and a developer now wants to make the city a big magnet for renters, too.
Magnolia Property is a big player among companies that build small urban rental communities. Now, Magnolia has plans to build at The Gate, a 40 acre mixed-use development along the Dallas North Tollway near John Hickman Road close to The Star - the Dallas Cowboys headquarters.
Last year Magnolia bought three acres at The Gate and now the company plans a $19 million luxury apartment complex of more than 100,000 square feet.
Officials say there will be office space at ground level with the apartments going up above. They're planning to break ground in September.
