DFW Airport ground stop called because of Coronavirus positive test

GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD)- Air traffic at DFW Airport is back to normal Tuesday following last night's ground stop called when the FAA Terminal Radar Approach Control Facility was closed for deep cleaning after a controller tested positive for the Coronavirus.

It was the second such Covid-related ground stop in a week at DFW.

Last Wednesday, all departures and arrivals were halted because of a positive test for a staffer at the FAA's Air Route Traffic Control Center.

Monday night, the Control Facility was closed for three hours to be sanitized. Flights were stopped for only about an hour because controllers were shifted to another location.

Last week's closure resulted in about 200 flight delays or cancellations. Last night, it was about 100.
