Travelers at DFW International Airport have several options for getting a COVID-19 test before their flight.
The airport has contracted with a company called Collinson to offer testing outside TSA security checkpoints and inside the airport's security perimeter.
"As more and more travelers return to airports, we know how important quick and reliable testing will be for many of our customers," said Ken Buchanan, Executive Vice President of the Revenue Management & Customer Experience at DFW Airport. "That’s why we’re teaming with Collinson to open these new facilities. We want to make passenger journeys as seamless and convenient as possible."
Many popular international travel destinations are requiring visitors to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or face a mandatory quarantine upon their arrival. The U.S. state of Hawaii also requires visitors to have negative COVID-19 test results.
Collinson has set up a testing site in Terminal D at DFW Airport just outside the TSA checkpoint at Gate D22. There's one inside the security checkpoint near Gate D7. The company plans to open another testing facility inside the security perimeter in June.
"The new facilities at DFW Airport are in response to demand for airport testing facilities around the world as we start to emerge from various lockdowns," said Sheryl Pflaum, President of the Americas at Collinson. "We’re working with airports, airlines and local authorities alike to give travelers convenient, cost-effective options for taking tests pre-departure."
Tests can be booked as little as one hour in advance via the Collinson website . Travelers who test negative will be provided with a digital certification.
