DFW Airport expects a record number of travelers over Thanksgiving this year. From November 21 through December 3, the airport expects 3.1 million passengers, a 5.4% increase from 2023.
DFW says peak days will have more than 260,000 people flying through. The airport urges passengers to come two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.
Friday morning, lines were long at security, but they were moving smoothly.
"There are a lot of people here, and it seems to get busier and busier every year," a man waiting at security in Terminal D said.
"Get to the airport early," one woman standing in line said as she was holding her laptop. "Pull out what you need to before you get to the checkpoint so you can just put it in the bid and pull it through."
DFW urges passengers to prepay for parking to get a discount. Passengers can also track shuttle buses and wait times at security through DFW's app and website.
Wait times are also posted at each checkpoint along with wait times at neighboring checkpoints. Current times can be found at https://www.dfwairport.com/security/ .
