12 finalists are vying to become Lego’s North American Mini Master Model Builder, and a North Texas boy is among them.

Bennett Hills, a 9 year old from North Richland Hills, entered the competition with his model of the Dallas Skyline. The build showcased a Texas-shaped American flag, and even featured his version of Reunion Tower.

Bennett even added a crane, to highlight the growth our area is going through. He told NBC 5 that there were also some familiar faces in his entry, too.

“Last, but not least, I have my family right here,” Hills said. “My mom, my dad, my brother, and me, and our bicycles."

Becoming the next Mini Master Model Builder is a goal Bennett has had for some time now. He says he’s been dreaming of this for years!

"I started having this dream of being a LEGO master, and I've wanted to accomplish that," Hills said. "I dreamed of that when I was like 7, so now years later, I'm already in the national competition. So it gets me steps closer to that dream!"

Voting for the competition ends Monday, July 10 at 9:00 a.m.
